Commercial Client Rates:
The following rates apply to limited print or digital ownership of material. To retain ownership of original work will require an additional negotiated fee.
Spot B&W interior $30+ US
Full page BW interior $75+ US
Spot Color $75+ US
Full page Color interior $150+ US
Cover work, painting $500+ US
Private Client Rates:
The following rates apply for ownership of original work. The artist reserves the right to sell reproductions of the original artwork, unless those rights are bought by the client. These are just general rates, every commission is different.
BW Caricature $15 US
Color Caricature $30 US
BW $75+ US
Color $150+ US
What affects the range of rates?
1) How big is the illustration?
2) How much detail is involved?
3) Research. Is suitable reference material supplied?
4) Time constraints. Do you need it in a hurry? Forcing me to reschedule and prioritize my current clients can add to the cost of a job.
5) How much creative freedom do I have? Smaller agencies that would like open up their creative direction solely to the artist will often get a favorable rate.
