Recent Studio Work

I've been busy in the studio trying to get some stuff done for Xmass. I have a few animal cartoon commisions to do yet before the big holiday. This one is done for my wife. It is our eldest female.

We have a herd of corgis. And slowly I have been drawing each one. They are a great dog to have and work well with most families and children. Like any dog so long as they are walked often and well socialized. Too many people forget that dogs are not human and have different needs than humans. It's when you neglect those needs do you end up with problems. Most often the animal isn't to blame but the stupid owner. Sorry for the tanget it's just annoying.

C&C if you wish.

NCN Drawoff November

November was a busy month for me. Most of the month was the same daily grind. I've been in a creative rut lately. Though I have been becomming more and more active in the National Caricature Network. This is a great organization for Caricature artists. I come from a background in Cartoon illustration and design. A couple of year's ago a friend of mine conned me into doing caricatures at a small local festival. I really enjoyed the experience and began getting more serious about pursuing that avenue. To that end I joined the NCN. The quality of the artists and wealth of information is top notch.

Presently I am working on adding a new facet into my portfolio geared towards caricature and the editorial area of illustration. The NCN holds monthly contests that are ran much like real illustration jobs are. I found this a good way to boost my portfolio while getting feedback on what I am doing by a wide variety of artists. Novembers contest was to design a MAD magazine cover. The judges were Tom Richmond, Ray Alma, and Court Jones. I really have to hand it to the judges, for taking the time out of their busy schedules to give the feedback and act like a quasi art director. Please note that the following is just a promotional piece and is NOT an actual MAD magazine cover. The subject was Rocky Balboa
